MatrixSSL Application Solutions
PeerSec Networks MatrixSSL is ideal for providing supportable, standards based security for application protocols.
Application Security Highlights
- Security is being added to many network applications
- MatrixSSL provides a standard security library small enough to be distributed with the application
- Support costs are reduced because the application and security library have been tested together
- Security can be standardized for the application without worrying that previously installed libraries are up to date
- Embedded developers can easily integrate and support MatrixSSL with their own code because of its small API set, limited platform requirements and clean C source code
- SSL/TLS support for standard application operating systems including Windows, Linux, Mac OS X and Windows CE PocketPC Edition
Application Device Security
Network applications such as communications groupware, instant messaging, peer-to-peer systems, handheld data collection and collaboration applications are beginning to include network security features. Each of these applications has a custom protocol that requires integration with a security stack.
Standardized Security Benefits
MatrixSSL adds only 50KB to an application install package, making it possible to distribute standardized, out of the box security with the application, even those that are distributed dynamically over the Internet. Providing MatrixSSL with the application reduces support costs by allowing the entire solution to be tested in-house without dependencies on an external security library. Including a security solution is often more secure because the patch level of an external library cannot be guaranteed.
Platform Requirements
MatrixSSL is supported on most standard operating systems and is very portable to new operating systems due to a a high degree of platform independence. Because the APIs operate on a memory buffer level, integration with existing application sockets code is simple. There is no need to replace carefully tuned socket and select code in the existing application to use MatrixSSL. MatrixSSL is cross platform, making it compatible with applications that are deployed across multiple operating systems and architectures.
